Practical Support for Stronger Conservation Internships

The Conservation Collaborative webinar series is designed for the people who plan, manage, host, and support conservation internships.

Beginning in the fall, this series will offer practical guidance on the core elements of effective internship design: meaningful work, clear structure, strong supervision, useful feedback, inclusive support, and long-term learning.

The webinars will focus on the real decisions and challenges that shape an internship experience. How do you design work that feels meaningful and doable? How do supervisors support interns without overextending themselves? What kinds of structure help interns build confidence and skills? How can programs create clearer pathways into conservation careers?

Each session will combine practical frameworks, examples, and tools that participants can adapt to their own programs. The goal is not to prescribe one model, but to help organizations strengthen the internships they already offer — and build new opportunities with greater clarity and intention.
